What is Pickleball?

Pickleball is an increasingly popular sport. It can be played by players of all ages. It is ideal for the backyard, due to its relatively small playing area. This type of court is generally the same as a badminton-sized court, which is 20’ x 44.’ Points can only be scored by the side that originally serves the ball, which is served diagonally.
All players are required to let the ball bounce a single time before any return volleys are allowed. Additionally, there is a seven-foot space on each side of the net that is a designated “no-volley” zone. This rule is set in place to prevent spiking from occurring. The server alternates between service courts until the player faults. The first team to score eleven points (as long as they are leading by at least two points) wins. Pickleball is able to be played in either singles or doubles.
