All expansion joints will be filled using acrylic-based crack sealant. An adhesion promoter will then be applied to the surface, ensuring that the base coat will form an adhesive bond to the asphalt or concrete.

Step 3:

The third step involves applying a base coat, whether it is a new surface or resurfacing project. This base coat will have a heavy sand load, allowing it to create a thicker body for the court and will be black in color. This gives us a visual reference to ensure the entire court has a consistent application. This coat will take a few hours to cure depending on the outside temperature and depending on the surface will require 1-2 coats.

Step 4:

The color coats are then applied after the base coat(s) have cured. These coats contain finer sand than the material used for the base coat and will also require an hour to cure between each coat depending on the outside temperature. We apply two full coats of the main color on the entire court surface and then finish up with two additional coats on the actually playing areas or boxes on the new court surfacing. Similar drying or curing times are followed. We use up to four color coats, which will allow the court to last longer and resist wear.

Step 5:

All of the measurements are taken, and the lines are chalked. The lines are taped and a primer is used to ensure that the lines are straight and none of the paint bleeds through to give the lines a crisp, sharp look. The lines are painted on using the traditional white lines, or we can customize the court lines with different colors to give your court a unique look and design.

Step 6:

Custom graphics such as team logo’s or unique graphics can be added to provide a very distinct and personalized feature to your court. After all logos and graphics are completed, we offer a clear coat option above our normal services. This adds UV resistance and will extend the surface life of your new court surfacing.
